In 2023, Vietnam welcomed 590,000 Japanese visitors annually (※1). More recently, in September 2024, 68,068 Japanese travelers departed for Vietnam, making it the second most popular Southeast Asian destination after Thailand (※2).

Vietnam is known for its abundant natural attractions and historical landmarks, as well as its beloved local foods like pho and banh mi. As the demand for dining out recovers post-pandemic, restaurants are facing increasingly severe challenges, such as labor shortages and rising costs of ingredients and utilities.
